Post-earthquake, the number of tourist visits to Lombok drastically declined. According to the latest data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the January–February period, tourist visits dropped by 38.14% compared to the same period last year.
According to Dewantoro Umbu Joka, Chair of ASITA NTB Regional Representative Council (DPD), besides the public's lack of confidence in Lombok’s natural conditions, the high cost of plane tickets has also directly impacted the decline in tourist interest.
ASITA NTB remains optimistic that if plane ticket prices return to normal, the number of tourist visits to Lombok will gradually improve.
